The cemetery directions leaving Roseau by highway #11 drive approx 6 miles to highway #89, turn right (north) drive approx 7 mile north till you come to 380th St, turn here left (west) drive approx 2 miles till you come to the cemetery which will be on your right (north) side of the road, watch for only one large stone as this is the only marking for the cemetery as it is surrounded by farmland. As you pass over county road #115 you will be able to see the Pinecreek Lutheran Church to your right about 2 miles north from here.

This cemetery was established in the year of 1896 on acre more or less. The land according to the Atlas of 1913, reads a Nels A. Ferrand had obtained this land. This same land adjoins the James Jorgenson land today. There is no church present at this small cemetery. This cemetery has been referred to as the Old Islandic Burial Cemetery. The aged headstones or markers that were here years ago are gone, as now one larger headstone sits in the middle of cemetery with the listed names. The area is well cared for with the grass recently mowed, but no longer used for burials.

A complete walk thru with readings of the one large visible headstone displaying those buried here, this is a completed transcript as of Sep 13, 2010. A digital camera has been used for pictures.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
