The cemetery directions leaving Strathcona MN drive 3 miles North on Highway #32 watch for County Road #8 turn here left hand side (West) drive 3 miles the cemetery will be on your left side (south) located on the corners of Road #8 & #29.

The established date 1907 on the corner of land owned by Syver E. Haugtvedt looking at the 1913 Atlas. The Haugtvedts 2 sons came down with diphtheria the same day & where overcome by the illness in 1906, which may have been among some of the 1st burials here. A group called the West Pople Grove Congregation organized but never built a church but did have a cemetery, today well known as the Haugtvedt Cemetery. In the year of 1912 the West Pople Grove people joined the Bethlehem Church. No church is present next to the cemetery at this site.

The cemetery association are the owners, families with loved buried here help with the upkeep, the cemetery is in very good condition & is still used for burials.

I did a complete walk thru, reading all of the visible headstones. This is a complete transcript as of Apr 23, 2010. A digital camera has been used for pictures.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
