Lat: 48° 47' 28"N, Lon: 96° 00' 28"W

Contributed by Marjorie Broten, Aug 28, 2010, last edited Aug 31, 2010 [mjbroten@centurylink.net]. Total records = 75.

The cemetery directions leaving Roseau on Highway #11 driving west for 11 miles you see the cemetery on your right (west side) before you cross over the railroad tracks, ahead will be the town of Badger on your right side (west).

This cemetery was established in 1898 on approximately 1 acre of land which was given by Peter Sjoberg. Also known, as the Swedish Cemetery or Bethany Cemetery. There is no church present by cemetery today.

The Bethania Swedish Lutheran Church owns and maintains this cemetery and it is still used for burials. It is in very good condition. I did not see a cemetery sign, a cement post by driveway may have been where the sign had been at one time.

I did a complete walk thru, reading all existing and visible headstones as of Aug 28, 2010. A digital camera has been used for pictures.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
