To reach the cemetery drive app 4 blocks North of Hwy. 28 on Grove Lake Street to Township Rd 146. The cemetery will be on your left at the intersection.

The land for this cemetery was donated by H. A. Adams, with the first two burials being Laura Adams and William Chapman in 1886. The cemetery was not officially organized until Jun 19, 1913.

The cemetery is governed by a cemetery board. As to actual ownership of the land, I'm not sure but am assuming it is probably the Village of Villard since the land was donated back in 1913. The Village of Villard has assumed responsibility for mowing the cemetery.

It is still active, though since it is just a small, country cemetery there are not a lot of burials taking place there.

I walked and read this cemetery in 2003. Then compared this reading with the Sexton files.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
