HistoryRiverside Cemetery was established in 1890 as the Protestant alternative to the mixed-use Maple Ridge Cemetery. Maple Ridge soon closed up for further burials, prompting the opening of a new Catholic cemetery named St. Mary's Cemetery, in 1901, located adjacent to Riverside. Today, St. Mary's Cemetery is a part of Riverside Cemetery.
