In Camp Springs, from the intersection of Allentown Road and Temple Hills Road, turn east on Allentown Road and go .30 miles until you see a dirt road next to the house. Turn on the dirt road and go north about 30 yards until you see the cemetery.

The cemetery was once belonged to Mount Hope African Methodist Episcopal Church which disbanded in the late 1960's.

This cemetery is in terrible shape. Somebody mows the grass, but some of the headtones are overturned and broken. There are sunken areas where people are buried. This one really needs some tender loving care.

I walked and read this cemetery on Nov 02, 2004. I compared my findings with the book "Stones and Bones" pub. in 1984.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
