From the intersection of Highway 223 and Tippett Road, turn onto Tippett Road and go south/southeast 1 mile until you reach Thrift Road, go on to Thrift Road and go until you see a road, across the street from an old schoolhouse, turn and go south on dirt road for .2 miles. The cemetery is behind the house. Ask permission from owner before going into the cemetery.

A small family cemetery that needs work. There is a lot of overgrowth in this one as well as a stone fence that once surrounded the cemetery is partly destroyed. The land was once owned by the Marbury Family who named their land "Wyoming" who were tobacco farmers. The owner should clean and fix this cemetery up.

I visited this burial site on Nov 29, 2004. I compared my findings with "Stones and Bones" published in 1984.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
