Pleasant Fields Cemetery
Germantown, Montgomery County, Maryland
Contributed by Anne Braun, Nov 14, 2002 [annieb1961@comcast.net].
Total records = 4.
From Interstate 270, go to exit 18 then turn and go 1 mile north
on Ridge Road, then turn and go west on Observation Road until you reach
Royal Crown Rd turn and go 1/4 mile until you reach Milestone Manor Road
go west on Milestone Manor Road until you reach Hawks Nest Lane, turn and
follow the road until you reach the cemetery. The cemetery is located
between two houses on south side of road.
It is a small well kept, family cemetery. In 1798, the Waters Family
built a house called Pleasant Fields. Thus the reason for the name. The cemetery
is about 1/4 mile from the house, and for many years was
neglected with no care.
In 1997, a group of Boys Scouts cleared the
cemetery and the company of the housing subdivision agreed to take of the
cemetery. Today, the cemetery has a black iron fence around it and it is
kept up.
I walked through this cemetery on Nov 13, 2002.
