Speake Cemetery
Pisgah, Charles County, Maryland

Bowieland Road, Pisgah, Maryland

Lat: 38° 31' 00"N, Lon: 77° 07' 19"W

Contributed by Anne Braun, May 06, 2006 [annieb1961@comcast.net]. Total records = 1.

In Pisgah, from the intersection of Highway 425 and Poor House Road, go south/southeast for 2.3 miles on Poor House Road until you reach Annapolis Woods Road. Turn right and continue south for 1 mile. Turn right into Bowieland Place and go west on a gravel road for .5 miles to the end of the road.

Next one needs to ask the owner of the property for permission to visit and also ask if they would show you where the cemetery is. From the owner's house it is about .5 mile north/northwest, into the woods.

The same person that owns the land where the Franklin Cemetery, also owns the land where the Speake Cemetery is on.

This is small cemetery that is in the woods. There is only one marked grave here. The rest are field stones and sunkin in ground indicating that people are buried here. The owner of the property does not know who is buried there.

This includes only headstone readings from when I visited this cemetery on Apr 29, 2006.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
