Brawner Cemetery
Charles County, Maryland

7700 Simms Landing Road, McConchie MD

Lat: 38° 29' 18"N, Lon: 76° 02' 00"W

From McConchie, go .5 miles northeast on Highway 6 until you hit Simms Landing Road. Turn there and go south/southeast for 1.5 miles. The cemetery is about 40 yards from the road on the east side of the

A small family cemetery that is nearly gone. The cemetery once belonged to the Brawner Family who lived at a manor called "Harwood".

The family who used to live at the house has come back to live there. They are very concerned about the Brawner Cemetery. The daughter, son and daughter's boyfriend are in the process of cleaning it up. The daughter had unearthed a huge rectangle shape stone with no writing on it. She also said that there is half a headstone in the woods near the cemetery. We tried to find it in the woods to no avail. The knocked over headstone was the result of a tree falling on it during a storm about 3 years ago.

The information that I have is from the cemetery records that Charles County did back in the late 1970's-early 1980's.

I walked and read this cemetery on Apr 09, 2005.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
