Church Hill Cemetery
Norwell, Plymouth County, Massachusetts

Common Street, Norwell, MA 02061

GPS: 42.12321, -70.80616

rom Norwell center (intersection of Rte 123 and River Rd), take River Road south 2-3 miles until it crosses over Rte 3. Turn right when you see the second street sign for Common Street. Cemetery is on your left.

This cemetery is also known as "Old Cemetery at Church Hill" and "Church" cemetery. It is still active, although it dates from the early 1700s and many older burials can be found here. A monument on the hill reads 'Site of Saint Andrews Church, Oct 11, 1731 thru June 13, 1811'. There is a small section of gravestones next to the road, the remainder are up a dirt road on a hill. There is no sign roadside, but it sits opposite Pinehurst Cemetery on Common Street. It is mowed and manicured and in good condition.

The property is privately owned and managed by Church Hill Cemetery Corp, a nonprofit burial association. Contact: Lida M. Griffiths, Treasurer, 196 Plain St, Pembroke, MA 02359-3719.

This is not a complete listing of all of the burials in this cemetery. The records below were provided by contributors to Interment.net. Last edited Sep 19, 2011. Total records = 168.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    Clear Digital Media, Inc.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
