Page Cemetery
Tompkinsville, Monroe County, Kentucky

Contributed by Ruth Kaylor, Jun 17, 2000 [ruthk@scrtc.com].
Total records = 40.

This cemetery is located 10 miles NE of Tompkinsville, outside of the "Persimmon Community" on land belonging to Mrs. Clinard Page. The story told about this plot was that a family traveling through this part of the country by horse and wagon had lost a child. They were looking for a burial site when they saw this piece of land at the side of the road with a big shade tree on it. They stopped and buried their child. Their name is unknown. It then evolved into somewhat of a family cemetery for the Page's.

The cemetery is on a clear lot, twenty graves are marked only with rocks worn smooth by the weather. From their appearance, I doubt if any inscriptions were ever put on them. Revised Sep 17, 2000

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
