LaRue County, Kentucky

Lat: 37°30'10"N, Lon: 85°32'51"W

This listing was contributed by Edward Benningfield [knobcreekboy@mindspring.com].  Total records = 224.

From Hodgenville the county seat; take Hwy. 210 southeast about 15 miles toward Campbellsville, then at Badger or Sandy Y turn left of Hwy. 462 and go 4 miles to Attilla; then turn left on the Levelwoods road and go just over 3 miles and the church is on the left

(Howardstown map, Section 23-M-48 Carter coordinates) The cemetery, as well as the church, is located in the eastern end of the county south of the Rolling Fork River.

Rev. John Baird started the church in 1796 when he preached a sermon at Phillip Reed's house in August. Baird, who died in 1846, is buried nearby in a family plot. The cemetery goes back to the early 1800's.

cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

Clear Digital Media, Inc.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
