From Kansas City, MO, take I35 South 9 miles to the Shawnee Mission
Parkway exit. Turn right (west) on Shawnee Mission Parkway. Turn left
on Quivira Rd. The cemetery is at 61st Terrace and is the farthest south
of three contiguous cemeteries.
This cemetery is bounded on the north by 61st Terrace and the
street bounding on the south is 62nd Terrace with the Shawnee Cemetery
across the street on the north side.
This cemetery is in excellent condition and is very well maintained.
On many of my trips there I saw the grounds care in action, mowing and
weed-eating. This is an active, growing cemetery and has grown in phases.
The oldest sections of the cemetery contain some very old stones, and
there are an expected amount of missing, broken, and well-worn stones.
