From Kansas City, Mo, take I35 south to the Johnson Drive exit and go West (right) onto Johnson Drive (about 1 mile). Continue west to Flint Street and turn right. Take Flint to 57th Street and turn left. This brings you to the Trading Post which is the entrance to Shawnee Town.
This cemetery is located in Old Shawnee Town, a recreation of life in the Prairie. This park is located in the heart of what was once Gum Springs, later renamed Shawnee Kansas. Old Shawnee Town is comprised of buildings both authentic and recreations, including a church with an authentic cemetery.
According to the Old Shawnee Town park information, no bodies are buried here. The stones here were recovered from vandals by the Johnson Co. Sheriff's department, and since the cemetery of origin was unknown, the stones were placed in Old Shawnee Town. Stones are badly eroded and broken but are being maintained and preserved as part of the park.
