From Kansas City, MO, take I35 South to US 56 W, exit 210 into Gardner. Follow 56H right. Turn left at S Poplar St. Cemetery is at end of street past the railroad tracks.

This cemetery was established in 1857. It is owned by the Township of Gardner, and is managed by the Gardner Cemetery Association.

We found many of the stones in this cemetery to be weathered and broken. A number of stones are found leaning against other stones. The newer areas of the cemetery are well maintained.

This is a complete transcription of this cemetery, completed by Carol Rollins and I on Dec 28, 2006.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
