Maple Grove Butts Cemetery
Butler County, Kansas

Lat: 37° 39' 54"N, Lon: 96° 32' 03"W
Glencoe Twp, Sec 28

Contributed by Beverly Horner, Apr 12, 2004 [msbeverlyh@yahoo.com]. Total records = 43.

The cemetery is located just off of US 400/96 across from the Beaumont turnoff, in Beaumont Kansas. You can see the small cemetery as you look north from US 400 and is only 1/10th mile from US 400.

This cemetery was originaly a family cemetery started by the Butts family. It is is well maintained and is still receiving. It is my understanding from a Butler County official that it is eventually going to be replatted and made larger. However, the time frame was not given to me. There is a larger cemetery just about 2/10th of a mile east of this cemetery, called the Beaumont Cemetery.

I walked and transcribed this cemetery from all existing and legible tombstone inscriptions, completed in Jan 2004.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
