History

Locust Hill Cemetery sits atop a hill that was once known as Lamasco. This was homestead to a Robert Smith family in 1835. The acreage was later acquired by the Kirkpatrick family. A plot was set aside for a little country cemetery where friends and neighbors of the deceased did the burying. After a few years, the cemetery was deeded to the City of Evansville.

Cemetery Records

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
