Mathis Graveyard
Jefferson County, Indiana

This graveyard used to be located on Scott's Ridge Road east of Canaan, IN. It was located on the old Mathis Farm. To my knowledge only 1 or 2 stones, if that are still there, but they are unreadable. The information that follows is taken from the DAR list of the 1940's.

It is probable that James Suggan, a Revolutionary soldier is buried here. His wife Prissa was the mother of John Mathis. About 15 graves here.
