From the town of Banquo, Indiana take SR 105 south for about 1.5 miles. At the Y with SR 37 turn a sharp left northeast. The cemetery will be on your right shortly after the turn.

The Gardens of Memory is in Huntington County, Indiana, about a half mile north of the county line, while the postal address shows it as in Marion, which is several miles southwest of the cemetery in Grant County, Indiana.

Gardens of Memory was founded by Verlyn P. Masteller in the late 1950s. This cemetery is currently being used, and we found it in immaculate condition.

Joe Nightenhelser and I completed reading and transcribing this cemetery on Feb 25, 2008. This is a complete reading of all tombstone inscriptions to that date.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
