To reach the cemetery, go east on Rte 30 approximately .2 of a mile east of the intersection of Rt. 34 and Rt. 30 and cemetery entrance will be on the (right) west side of the road. Cemetery is 11 miles west of Plainfield on Rt. 30. There is an office on site.

This cemetery was established in 1929 and is located between Aurora and Oswego IL. It is in Kendall County on the border of Kane County. Very beautiful, well maintained and very active cemetery. I have no idea how many acres this cemetery covers.

There are many stones that the spelling is not what I would expect it to be however I listed the information the same way that it was on the stone. There are many names that have various spellings even when they are all in the same section. Case in point; Hord, Hord and Hordh all side by side but the h is definitely on the end so I listed it that way. Latvia is spelled with one i on some stones and two i s on others. On the military stones the abbreviations are the way they were on the stones. I did try to be as accurate as possible and hope any mistakes that I have made are few and far between.

The names that are marked section n/a are burials that took place after I finished reading cemetery and took those names from the local newspaper obituary. ? - My best guess or no idea. If the ? is in the middle of a word or a date that is because I can't make out the number or letter.

I started walking and transcribing this cemetery in November 2007 and finished in June 2008. I have only listed the stones and by no means is this a complete list of burials. I have tried to be as accurate as possible in my work but I know there could be some mistakes, mine, the stone mason's and possibly the family.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
