Three Pines Cemetery

The cemetery is southwest of the town of Elk River. There is a sign at the base of the hill as you enter the cemetery area. As you enter the gate, the road will continue for another mile or so to the cemetery, which is in such a beautiful forested area.

The Three Pines cemetery is the property of and maintained by The Elk River Cemetery District, which is in Clearwater County, Idaho. This cemetery was started many years ago by the Odd Fellows Lodge. It was neglected and full of weeds when the Elk Cemetery District took over about 1959-1960. Around that time the cemetery was cleaned up and established as The Three Pines Cemetery under the Elk River District.

I walked and read this cemetery initially in May of 1999. I have also been able to obtained the burial locations from the current Sexton, plus updates. There are three sections, A, B & C each in rows followed by the grave. I walked it again on Jun 29, 2007 and took a photo of all existing headstones. Entries followed by an asterisk I did not find the second time.
