Old Hope Cemetery (Chinese Cemetery)
Hope, Bonner County, Idaho

T57N R1E Sec 34
Lat: 48°15'12"N, Lon: 116°18'54"W

Contributed by Mary Garrison, Mar 11, 2002 [mycougars@adelphia.net] Total records = 34.

The directions are as follows: Take Highway 200 toward Hope. Just west of Hope a business route of Highway 200 goes to your left. When you turn onto that there is a small road that goes to your immediate left and up the hill. Just up the hill is a small turnout on the right side of the roadway that you can park on.

The cemetery is not seen from the roadway. It is not cared for at all, therefore it is very overgrown, situated above a large concrete retaining wall.

A list was also found in the cemetery files at the Bonner County Historical Museum that was from an oral history from an unknown Hope resident. This list was incorporated into this list. These have no headstones.

The transcriptions of the only remaining visible tombstones have an asterisk * following their entry.,

Mary and Nellie Garrison completed the transcriptions June 2001, updated 06-04-2001

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
