To reach this cemetery from the intersection of Interstate 515 and Highway 53/5 in Jasper, Georgia, travel north on Highway 515. Turn right onto Appalachian Trail, then left onto gravel road at the top of the hill (cemetery identification sign pointing way) and cemetery is at the top of hill. Brick entry gate on right.

This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Mount Zion Baptist Church. It is not adjacent to the church as is customary although old maps show a church beside the cemetery. Property for cemetery donated Aug 08, 1978 by Carl and Victoria Johnson.

I walked this cemetery and completed this transcription on Jul 27, 2008. It includes all existing and legible stones and markers.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
