From the intersection of GA-316 & GA-81, proceed south for .9 mi. Turn left on Bethel Church Road and travel .5 mile. Bethel Baptist Church is on the right. The cemetery is behind the church, except for two short rows which are on the right as you face the church.

Bethel Baptist Church received a deed from John O. Perry in Walton County on Feb 10, 1877, for a 1¼ acre tract of land of the purpose of erecting a place of worship. Logs cut from nearby woods were used to build the brush arbor and benches in the small community five miles from Jug Tavern (Winder) just off the Loganville Highway. The old brush arbor served the congregation until 1904 when it was replaced by a one room church with a front porch.

Arch Perry donated the land at the rear of the church building as a burial site for members of the church and of the community. There has never been a charge made for burial lots to anyone, and in recent years additional land for burials of members was donated by heirs of the Perry estate and nmumerous additions and improvements have enhanced the church property.
