Union Highland Cemetery is owned and operated by the City of Florence.

History

Union Highland Cemetery held its first burial in 1873, that of Mrs. Stephen Tanner, placed in a small plot near the center, then known as the Tanner Cemetery. Later, the cemetery became known as Highland Cemetery. The cemetery was renamed again to Union Highland on July 7, 1930, when its operation was turned over to the city of Florence.
