DNA analysis and historical evidence were used to positively identify the remains as belonging to 2nd Lt. John F. Lubben, who served with the 644th Bomber Squadron, 410th Bomber Group, Light and lost his life on December 13, 1945. He is now interred at Forest Hill Cemetery in Wisconsin, but his name is permanently inscribed on the Tablets of the Missing at Luxembourg American Cemetery.
