Saint Nicholas Churchyard
Bringhurst, Leicestershire, England

Bringhurst Hill, Bringhurst, Leicestershire

Contributed by Jo Clinton, Feb 21, 2007 [jo_clinton@hotmail.co.uk]. Total records = 71.

On entering Bringhurst village from Great Easton, the chuch is down the small lane on the right hand side of the lane and the burial grounds surround it.

Bringhurst village was a Saxon village in the 6th C. The church of Saint Nicholas dates back to the 12th C and was the mother church for Great Easton and Drayton. It stands on the highest point of Bringhurst Hill, in the centre of this small village surrounded by a few thatched cottages. This old cemetery is in the grounds of the church, and is also the burial ground for Drayton Village.

This list contains all existing and readable inscriptions when I visited on Feb 20, 2007. There are also 52 headstones which are too weathered to read.

    cemetery records

A free online library of cemetery records from thousands of cemeteries across the world, for historical and genealogy research.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
