Cemetery History

When Quebec's historic counties were abolished this area of Wolfe County became part of the M.R.C. of Le-Haut St-François.

This Catholic parish was founded in 1852. There was another burial ground before this one near the church and the remains of those interred there were brought to this cemetery in 1858. The official church records began in 1863. The cemetery is large and sprawling on sloped land. It is well maintained.

Cemetery Records

Records below were transcribed from tombstone inscriptions by Leslie and Susan Nutbrown during a visit to the cemetery in 2020. Records for those buried without tombstones were transcribed from church records, covering a period of 1863-1940.

Legend: CR = church records (registres de paroisse)

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
