Driving Directions

From the North end of town, cross over the autoroute and stay on Fairfax Road less than half a mile. The cemetery cannot be missed as it is a huge sprawling cemetery with three entrances on the left. Behind the cemetery can be seen Crystal Lake.

Cemetery History

The cemetery has been used since the first settlers arrived here in the early 1800s. Some stones were moved here from small burial grounds on farmland. The oldest stones date from the 1830s and like most old cemeteries, there are unmarked graves. It is a beautiful cemetery, well looked after, with 3 access roads and many lanes.

It is maintained by the Crystal Lake Cemetery Company and is open until November 1st each year. For further information about this cemetery, you may contact  Lawrence Haskell (819-876-5354) or Brian Curtis (819-876-2666).

Cemetery Records

Records below were transcribed from tombstone inscriptions by Leslie, Susan, and Jason Nutbrown during initial visits to the cemetery in September and October of 2004, and then again in 2016. Some additional burials have been added from church records and more recently from The Sherbrooke Record obituaries.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
