Saint Luke Anglican Cemetery
Adderley, Inverness Township, Megantic County, Quebec

Contributed by Dale E Wright, Oct 10, 2005 [duncansbrook@hotmail.com]. Total records = 36.

From Inverness village, travel on the Gosford Road south approximately 9 kilometres. This route takes you through the historic "Scotch settlement". The road comes to a "T" at the vicinity formerly known as Adderley. The village of Saint Pierre Baptiste is on the right. Turn left and the cemetery is approximately 1.5 km from the "T".

The cemetery is located on a rolling hillside in the vicinity formerly known as Adderley, between Saint Pierre Baptiste and Saint Ferdinand de Halifax and is less than half a kilometre past the Adderley Presbyterian cemetery.

The Anglican church used to stand within the perimeter fence. The church was deconsecrated and sold in later years and moved down the road to a farm and used as a storage shed. The building has since disappeared from view.

The cemetery contains 19 headstones and only an occasional burial takes place here. It is well maintained.

I visited this cemetery in Aug 13, 2005, and did a complete recording of all existing and legible stones.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
