From Lennoxville, take Route 108 East to the town of Cookshire.
Continue through the town and the cemetery is on the right side
of the road immediately after the Cookshire Protestant Cemetery.
This cemetery is called Cookshire Catholic Cemetery as well as
Saint Camille Cemetery. It appears to have begun around 1872 much
later than the adjacent Protestant Cemetery. The earliest burials
were English Catholics but today most of the burials are French
Catholics. The cemetery is well cared for with a nice fence and
paved lanes.
Susan Nutbrown and I visited this cemetery in August of 2007,
and we have transcribed from all existing and legible tombstones
or markers.
