Bishop Cemetery
Bishopton, Compton County, Quebec

Contributed by Leslie Nutbrown, Jul 16, 2005, last edited Feb 15, 2008 . Total records = 8.

Bishopton is located Northeast of the town of East Angus. From Route 112 North, take Route 255 East about 2 miles. The cemetery is in the center of town but hard to find as it is in the back of a private dwelling. Watch for it on the right hand side before you get to the Saint Francis River Bridge, behind property #96 on Main St. (rue Principale).

This small plot of fenced land is situated in back of a private family dwelling in the middle of the town of Bishopton. The owners of the property speak French and English and out of courtesy one should get permission from them first to cross their land.

There are only 8 headstones. There could be a few more burials but not many as the plot of land is quite small.

I visited this cemetery in July of 2005, and have transcribed from all existing and legible tombstones or markers.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
