This cemetery is under the management of the Cemetery Board of St James Anglican Church. It is very well maintained and it is kept in excellent condition.

Information has it that the cemetery was originally known as God's Acre, then as the Old Anglican Cemetery or St James Cemetery. It is rich in history as it contains the remains of the town's founders and many of its early inhabitants.

These records are compiled from reading the inscription on each tombstome in the cemetery that could be read. A few stones are unreadable. This was done in the summer of 2002.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
