To reach this cemetery, directions are, travel Hwy #24, from the intersection
of Hwys 2/53, several kilometres, to the first set of traffic lights,
which is the intersection of Hwy # 24 and County Road # 4, turn right
on to County Road # 4, and travel west to the all way stop sign in the
village of Scotland, turn right on to County Road 16, aka Simcoe Street,
then travel north on County Road 16, approximately ¼ km.
The cemetery is located in Lot 1, Concession 2, Oakland Township in
the village of Scotland. Watch for Scotland Baptist Church on the east
side of Simcoe Street and the cemetery is located beside the church.
This cemetery is under the jurisdiction of the Corporation of the County
of Brant. It is well maintained and is still active.
I walked this cemetery in May & June, 2006, reading and recording the
inscriptions on each of the tombstones in order to complete the transcription
process.
