Cemetery History

St. Vital Cemetery opened up in 1937 as a Catholic cemetery serving the municipality of St. Vital.

The burial ground offers a tranquil, park-like setting with an adjacent river walk leading into St. Vital Park. It is located at 236 River Road on the east side of the Red River, between St. Vital Park and Bishop Grandin Boulevard.

The cemetery also has a large cremation garden, the first such cremation garden among the three City-owned cemeteries.

Only ground-flush markers are allowed at St. Vital Cemetery.
