In the Village of Fruitvale take Kootenay Avenue southeast to Columbia
Gardens Rd. where you turn right. Continue till you come to Walnut Ave
on the right, the cemetery will be on your left. The north corner of the
cemetery is Columbia Gardens Rd and Tamarack Ave.
This cemetery is owned and maintained by the Village of Fruitvale.
I could tell it is well maintained, even if it was being worked on.
The irrigation system at the cemetery was being upgraded when I was
there. This meant no sprinkling of the grounds while the work was being
completed. The grass was getting brown and men were busy installing
lines, and any other task that was needed to be done.
When I could I gave a location area, however on many toward the back
on either side, I did not get a good enough notation to be sure which
side they are in. There are two sides of this cemetery, with one path
down the middle.
I walked and read this cemetery on Jul 16, 2003, using my digital
camera. This includes all existing headstones. I would be happy
to share my photos for a small fee. I found a few names in the
death records, for which there was no marker, so I have no photo.
