If you are coming to Field from the East you make a left turn off the TransCanada Highway staying on the main road. Cross the bridge over the Kicking Horse River and then over the railroad tracks. Follow this road up a small hill until you come to a T intersection. At the T you turn left onto a dirt road and proceed approximately one mile. The cemetery is located in the wilderness on the right hand side of the road surrounded by a fence.

The Field Cemetery is in Yoho National Park and records for the cemetery are maintained by the park as is the cemetery.

This cemetery was transcribed by Louise Rande, from headstone inscriptions in 2009. This includes all existing and legible burials. This work donated by Louise Rande, who has given the rights for the transcription to the Golden Museum. We also have a photo archive of individual gravestones.

    What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
