Contributed by Judith Dickson, Jan 27, 2007 [judy_dickson@brisnet.org.au]. Total records = 6.

This cemetery is located at located Serpentine Creek Rd & Beenleigh Redland Bay Rd, in Redlands Shire.

The cemetery was originally gazetted in 22 Feb 1890 and was historically listed on the 7 Jan 1999. A stone in the cemetery with plaque shows the names of original trustees. This cemetery is apparently the final resting place of numerous local settlers, but today few graves remain.

This cemetery was closed around 1945, but remains a Cemetery Reserve under the trusteeship of Redland Shire Council.

The cemetery is maintained by a volunteer group, the "Friends of Serpentine Creek Cemetery". They can also assist with general enquires about the cemetery. Contact: Mrs Kath Hughes (07) 3829 0239

The following is a recording I completed of all visible inscriptions as at February 2006.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
