Thornborough Cemetery

Thornborough Cemetery is located north west of Dimbulah Qld. Drive west from Mareeba along the Burke Development Road to Dimbulah then turn left up the Thornborough road (dirt road) and follow the signs to Thornboroughh approximately 25km from Dimbulah.

The cemetery is located approximately 1km along the Mount Mulligan Road from Thornborough. This district is part of the Hodgkinson Goldfields discovered in 1876 by Irish explorer James Venture Mulligan and the Cemetery is owned by the Mareeba Shire council and well maintained by the Cairns Four Wheel Drive Club Inc.

I have transcribed this list from all visable headstones which I photographed when I walked the Thornborough Cemetery in June of 2008.
