Gympie Cemetery (Two Mile Cemetery)
Cooloola Shire, Queensland, Australia

47 Shields Street, Gympie, Queensland 4570

To reach the Gympie Cemetery drive north out of Brisbane about 2½ hours on the Bruce Highway. It is on the right as you head north out of Gympie.

Gympie began as a shanty town, when gold was discovered by James Nash, in 1867. It became a thriving community serving the needs of the rich farming and pastoral lands. Timber remains an important industry.

Gympie Cemetery is owned and very well maintained by the Gympie Cemetery Trust Pty Ltd, sexton Neil Sutton.

What makes us Different?

Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
