The historical county of Megantic is located in the southeastern part of Quebec, Canada. It was created in 1855 and comprised several townships, including Inverness, Ireland, and Nelson. Megantic was named after Lake Megantic, which is located within the county's boundaries.

The county has a rich history, with many early settlers being of Scottish and Irish descent. What makes us Different?

    Single-sourced, not crowd-sourced

Each transcription we publish comes from a single-source, be it the cemetery office, government office, church office, archived document, a tombstone transcriber. Other websites already do an excellent job of crowd-sourcing a single cemetery together. But genealogists also need to see the original records from a single source. That's what we offer.
