Lambkin Cemetery
Waterville, Compton County, Quebec

From Main Street (rue Principale) in the town of Waterville, turn east on Compton Road (Chemin de Compton). Take the first left on Depot Street. Drive to the end of this road and park near the Waterville TG Factory. You will have to walk along the railroad tracks east in the direction of Compton in order to get to the cemetery. After rounding the bend walk further and you will notice a field on your left. I walked along the edge of the field parallel to the railroad tracks. The cemetery is located on a little knoll in the woods to the left of the railroad tracks near the bend in the river.

This abandoned cemetery has been here since at least 1831 and I suppose at one time there was a settlement and a road but the burial ground itself is very close to the railroad tracks. There is a rough barbed wire fence surrounding the cemetery and I noticed a fox den nearby. The cemetery stones feature Lambkin and Learned familes who lived here long ago.
